Around the Neighborhood (Part 1)

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to walk to my neighborhood playground. I thought that by 6:30 the weather would have cooled down a bit. Boy was I wrong. I was over-heated and a bit miserable when I arrived. However, it was totally worth it. There was no one at the playground for a good hour-and-a-half, and I had the run of the place.

People!

As you may have noticed, rarely do I take photographs of people. However, I have been feeling the need to branch out into the world of portraiture, so when I was in Chicago, I went on an engagement shoot with my super-talented friend, Cathy. (Check out her work at http://www.cathysunu.com/.) This was my first time observing the inner-workings of what makes a shoot like this successful. I even got in a few shots of my own! Thanks, Cathy, for letting me tag along and learn from you!

Ferris Wheel

I love Ferris wheels. I love the shape, I love the intricacies within the structure, and I love that everything you see in the Ferris wheel serves a purpose. And what better place to take pictures of a Ferris wheel than in Chicago, where the Ferris wheel was born?

Chicago Again

During the last week of June, I made it out to Chicago to spend a glorious week visiting my friends and, of course, my best friend. We ate, drank, shopped, laughed, and danced until we were spent. I am already looking forward to going back. In the meantime, enjoy these shots from my trip.
